“ This Zankou Chicken is the Los Angeles original! It's classic in its complete lack of visual charm: it is the most generic of cafeteria chic. Hard booths. Minimal colors. Chrome surfaces. And yet, like all Zankou Chickens...the food is amazing. The chicken is tender and juicy. The hummus and tahini delicious. The garlic sauce so fantastic that literally EVERYONE orders extra. What more is there to say? The food is delicious: there's a reason it is such a successful chain restaurant. I am usually not one to give chains very high ratings. I make an exception because this is a Southern California chain. You can't find it elsewhere. Much like Utz potato chips are only found in the Mid-Atlantic states (Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware...etc.) Zankou is a SoCal phenomenon. Period. I've never personally had a bad experience at this location. Orders are usually up within ten minutes. I can even forgive this place for having Pepsi products instead of Coke. And I hate Diet Pepsi. Love it. ”
